Celtic Tribal Tattoo Design

Celtic Tribal Tattoo Designs are classic works of art that convert greatly into tattoos. It can be rather tough to find the right design for your next piece of artwork online though. I decided to share a little bit of knowledge and help guide you in your quest for finding your next piece of tattoo artwork.

chopper bike

These designs gained inspiration from an ancient method of public relation. When the Romans took over Ireland, Christian priests flooded into the country in order to convert the Celts. The Celts did not use a written language, but they did use an extremely original visual style, which intertwined their love of nature with their attempts to show the complexity of life. They did this with designs that have no beginning as well as no end. By using this style of the early Celts, and combining it with Christianity the priests decorated many of their early Bibles with this fresh style. Resulting in an entire nation being converted to Christianity and the beginning of the Celtic Tribal Tattoo design.

CHOPPER

It is not possible to say whether or not the Celts used their designs for tattoos as well. Julius Caesar did however write about seeing Celts with tattoos, although he did not indicate as to what kind they were. Still the distinctive Celtic Tribal Tattoo designs with their intertwining knots and representations of animals and other natural beings have kept their "cool factor" because they are directed on simulating a feeling and emotion rather than a realistic representation of the object.

If you are contemplating getting a Celtic Tribal Tattoo design, be sure and find a tattoo artist that specializes in the form. The background of these designs are filled with horrible versions of creative designs from artists that did not quite understand the task they were trying to achieve. Celtic designs are some of the hardest and most labor-intensive style of tattoo artwork available. Be sure you examine the portfolio of the artist so your tattoo can hold up to its 2000 year-old history.

How to Build Your First Custom Motorcycle

You have decided that you want to own a custom motorcycle, but you're not quite sure how or where to begin. There are a few things to think about before you start on your journey for that original, unique, or unusual motorcycle.

chopper bicycle

First, do you want to fully build a custom motorcycle from the frame up, do you want to modify an existing bike, or order one already built to your specifications? What size bike are you thinking about? Large, small or in the middle? Do you want agility & speed, or do you just want to look good while you cruise the highway?  You will need to decide how much money you can afford to spend in the long run & whether your ownership plan will most likely take you weeks, months or even years to complete.

CHOPPER

Second, can you spare the time to do the customization/modification on your bike yourself, or do you have the resources to have the work done for you. If you are going to do your own work, (as do most of us) you'll need to consider what tools you will need, where your work space will be located, how much help from like-minded friends you're likely to get, and your level and variety of skills.  Last but not least, do you have the motivation and dedication to continue once you have started creating your own custom bike?

Third, how much work needs to be done on a bike to make it a custom motorcycle anyway?  This is a controversial argument.  Some say it is not a custom motorcycle, unless you change out basically everything on the bike and others say changing just a couple of things makes it custom. This is the logical answer; make it uniquely yours in any way you choose!  Build it, modify it, lighten it, strengthen it, downsize it, expand it, make it more agile, paint it, build it up, or strip it down, just make it yours!  If you have had it modified and it is no longer "stock", or you've modified it yourself, congratulations! You now own a custom motorcycle!

Fourth, get out there and ride!!

Slap Chop Vs Quick Chop! Billy Versus Vince in the Kitchen Wars - Which is Better?

It could have been predicted that as soon as Vince Schlomi introduced the amazing Slap Chop that Billy Mays would counter with a similar device, the Quick Chop! Both are designed to make chopping and dicing everything from nuts to broccoli a cinch in the kitchen, saving time and hassle. Do they work? Consumers say yes, but not quite as perfectly as they do in their vibrant infomercials.

chopper

The Slap Chop sells for a penny under twenty bucks while the Quick Chop is .99. Both require shipping and handling charges but the slap chop comes with a cheese grater and a buy one get one free offer where you simply pay double the shipping. This makes it easy to get one for your self and as a holiday gift for someone else. The Quick chop also comes with a buy one get one free offer and instead of a cheese grater comes with folding cutting boards. Quite a useless addition to most consumers. The difference in the price is a mere seven bucks, however largely consumer reviews say there is quite a difference between the two on action.

CHOPPER

Both are advertised to chop, mince and dice even the hardest to cut foods like potatoes and nuts as well as provide enough sharpness to make salsa and fruit salad without causing a mushy mess. In side-by-side kitchen comparison tests, both did okay on the basic foods like onions and garlic while the Slap Chop was much more effective at chopping fruits and potatoes as well as nuts. The verdict, the Slap Chop's blade is much much sharper and definitely worth the additional .

In addition to that, the Slap Chop blades are interchangeable and have a butterfly effect, which allows them to open for cleaning. Both of these handy kitchen gadgets were prone to getting food particles and pieces stuck in the blades during chopping and the Quick Chop was a little more difficult to clean despite its claims to have a non-stick surface. The bottom line is that with ease and convenience, there will be some clean up and not every food will be diced to perfection.

Consumers seem to unanimously agree that the Slap Chop provides a sharper blade, a little less mess and has a more user-friendly design. However, both products do work well for every day kitchen use and they are definitely easier than dicing and chopping with a knife. Many customers feel that they both work better when the food items are at least halved or quartered before being put into the chamber. While Slap Chopping and Quick Chopping are perhaps safer for the majority of the population, culinary experts will still resort to their trustworthy sharp knives for kitchen dicing. It is difficult to predict the size and exact size of the foods in the Quick and Slap Choppers and you are pretty much stuck with just one consistency.

If you are in the mood for some quick chopping, it is probably best to go with Vince Schlomi and the Slap Chop which has stronger and blades. While the cheese grater for free may come in handy, the folding cutting boards free with the Quick chop will not. For a mere difference, it is worth getting the better and more versatile kitchen utensil.

Washing Your Chopper Motorcycle After Assembling

After you had assembled your chopper motorcycle, you are free to wash it. Wash each and every part properly which you have painted. For washing purpose, you can use any soaps or detergents which are specially made for motorcycles washing. You should not use common soap or dishwashing detergent, as they are too strong and will remove or affect the paint from your bike badly. Using a scrub or a hard brush with these soap or detergent might remove the paint.

Use of Acidic Cleaners

CHOPPER

Always use non-acidic cleaners to wash your bike. Non-acidic cleaner does not contain any chemical like Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether. Acidic cleaner or chemical cleaner have quick effect but they can also damage the paint as well as the body (metal) of the motorcycle. Most of the cleaners contain a strong chemical like Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether. Therefore, make it sure before buying any cleaner that it is a non-acidic cleaner.

Recommendation

It is not a good practice to wash your chopper motorcycle with cold water, if the painted parts of your bike have been heated by any means. As it might cause the metal underneath to contract and break the bond with the paint and you will have several cracks. Use normal water and a gentle stream to avoid scratches.

Try to wash your chopper motorcycle in the late afternoon or early morning when the sun is not too bright. The sap from the tree might damage the paint of your motorcycle; therefore you should not wash it under tree. It is recommended to wash your motorcycle under the fenders. If possible remove the seat or any other leather bag attached to your bike before washing it, as water can damage the leather material. Again, it is not good to use pressure washers, as excessive water pressure will cause lost of paint.

Remove the Paint from the Engine

After assembling the motorcycle, remove the paint form the engine of your chopper motorcycle. You can remove the paint form the engine by using special Liquid cleaners. These types of cleaners are generally known as chemical cleaners. Liquid cleaners are not as aggressive as abrasive cleaners, and are quite safer and abrasive cleaners for most painted surfaces. There types cleaners are generally used for removing old wax and contaminants like spots, stain, rust, tar, and bug spattering. There are some contaminants which are not removed during the washing process. These cleaners are also come in the paste form. Generally, paste cleaners are used for heavy rust, severe scratches and real blending of the paint.

How to Apply the Cleaner

Apply the cleaner on an applicator and start rubbing the applicator on the engine of your motorcycle. But don't apply the any cleaner directly on the painted surface of your motorcycle. You should apply the cleaner to the applicator and then fold the applicator. Mark the cleaner lightly over the applicator and then use it. Always apply small amount of cleaner at a time.

Always wash thoroughly your applicators with the mild soap and detergent. You should use liquid fabric softener or dryer sheets. The residue left on your towels can cause streaking of the paint form your chopper motorcycle. Therefore, you should keep changing the towel (used to apply the cleaner) at regular interval of time.

Custom Chopper Kits

Choosing the parts that your custom chopper will be made of can be very confusing, considering the large numbers of custom chopper bike kits available on the market today. Chopper innovators like Biker's Choice, Phantom Cycle, Paul Yaffe and many more sell chopper-in-a-box kits available for chopper enthusiasts. Thanks to these kits, custom choppers have become quite affordable and are no longer necessarily toys for millionaires or master mechanics.

chopper

Custom chopper kits provide the future chopper owner with all the instructions and just about every component necessary to create a perfect chopper of ones dreams. Jesse James, famous for his Discovery series "Monster Garage", offers a Big Book catalogue loaded with individual parts and accessories needed to create a fully custom bike with truly unusual frame configurations and groundbreaking metal sheet parts as seen on his TV show. However, the most exquisite details, such as an unusual tortoiseshell finish of the gas tank, can be obtained in your custom chopper only if you have your chopper built from scratch by Jesse himself.

CHOPPER

Before you start building your custom chopper you need to ask yourself what kind of chopper are you interested in building. Then you have to set up a budget for parts, labor and inevitable cost overruns. The price of the parts has scared many chopper enthusiasts from building a custom chopper of their own, but if you have exact specifications and the time and skills to invest into the project, then parts can be fairly inexpensive. If you choose the parts for your kit at the lower end spectrum, you will still end up with bike that will look like a Jesse James creation but will still have enough money left to throw a party when your new chopper leaves the garage.

When you select the parts for your custom chopper kit, try to use the most genuine parts available on the market within your price range. Sometimes even if you have a beautiful design in-mind, you can end up with poor-looking chopper, due to a lack of attention to detail by different suppliers

Complete custom chopper kits typically consists of an engine, chassis kit, exhaust pipes, tires, steel tanks and other metal parts, taillights, various controls, a seat, headlamp and many more. The extras supplied with a chopper kit would vary depending on the brand of chopper chosen. To finish your project, you will need paint and sometimes battery acid. Most chopper kits do not provide mirrors, speedometers or other accessories. These you can buy separately according to your taste.

To avoid unpredictable result, experienced chopper builder recommend waiting until you can afford buying all the accessories from one manufacturer. Waiting may not be easy when it comes to building your dream come true. But when you finally complete your custom chopper, you will be really glad you waited.

Building A Custom Chopper Motorcycle, Where Do You Start?

So you want to build a custom chopper? I do too, so the first question I asked myself, is where do I start. Should I make a business plan, a schedule, a financial statement, or should I just buy my wife some flowers and blindly proceed? I guess I should do all of the above but not necessarily in that order.

chopper bike

I will start by trying to justify this purchase and or endeavor, to do this I will make a list of my reasons for building a Chopper. 1) I want to ride a custom chopper, a totally cool stretched out, fire breathing, gas eating, pavement pounding, old lady scaring, 2 wheel monster. 2) I want to be able to say "I built that" when someone asks me where I got that totally sick bike. 3) I want to be able to customize the bike beyond the standard add on parts I can get for my current bike a Harley Davidson Fatboy. 4) I want to be able to make this dream come true, meaning I need to be able to pay for it. A ,000 chopper is out of my current budget. 5) I have been talking about this for 5 years so why don't I get to it and stop doing all the talking and start doing some building.

CHOPPER

Now I have a few reasons on paper a will look at my options, then make a plan, a schedule, and find some extra money.

Let's start with a my build options, and plan on a slow and steady approach. I realize I will need to do a lot of research before I start. I have 4 basic options, a kit bike, a rolling chassis, a start from zero build, or an extreme makeover of a current motorcycle.

Option 1) If I start with a motorcycle kit I maybe the farthest ahead from a mechanical perspective, and farthest behind from a financial point of view. What do I mean by this, well a kit bike has all the parts it just needs paint, labor, gas, oil and some love. The problem a complete kit bike will cost me ,000 dollars right up front. This is a bit out of my spend a ton of money now then not be able to ride a bike for a year or two thinking. If I get a kit, I maybe able to get it together faster, as I will be motivated and have all the parts ready to go. As a first bike I think this is a very good option, when you consider all the expensive mistakes I may make along that way. One drawback to this option is the amount of customization I can do to the bike as it is put together. Because all the parts are in the kit, I may resist the urge to get new bars or different sheet metal, or other parts.

Option 2) Start with a Rolling chassis, this is the middle of the road option, spend a lump sum of money, about 1/2 of what the overall bike will cost and get a basic setup that all works together.

A Rolling chassis kit consists of a Frame, 2 wheels, the forks, and triple clamps and bars, all build and configured to work together. Add a motor and a transmission and all the major workings of the bike are in place. This setup helps avoid some of the major work needed to mix match and fit these items together. This option also allows for a ton of customization in the parts that people see and the parts that give a bike it's personality. For me this is a very serious option to consider. I would only have 1/2 the cost and 1/2 the parts sitting around and gathering dust until I get time to get it together.

Option 3) Find each and every part one at a time and build a completely custom motorcycle. I know I could do this, but I also know I will encounter more unexpected and possibly expensive issues with this type of build. This option would give me a bike that no one would ever duplicate. This could be very good or this could be very bad. What if some possible combination of frame, motor, forks, or wheels didn't work together? It would not be discovered until the motorcycle was all together. I think this option is better left to the serious professional who build bike all night long, as the are working on other peoples bikes, and running businesses during the day. I may consider this for my second custom chopper.

Option 4) Take an existing bike and start cutting and changing it. This is maybe as involved as chopping and re-welding the frame to create a new rake and angles. Or it could mean just getting a new frame and using the engine, transmission, and various other part to build a new machine. I like this idea, and I think it would be a lower cost alternative to all new custom parts. With this option you are also able to keep the current registration and title if the frame is not replaced. This is also a lower cost option because a lot of the miscellaneous parts can be reused.

I know that in one page all the possible combinations of Custom Chopper build can't be completely explained, I just hope this information give you something to start with and build on. It has help steer me in the direction of a rolling chassis, so I better get shopping.

Custom Chopper Kits - How to Get the Right Kit

Custom choppers are becoming more and more sought after today. You can if you want go to a specialist who will build one for you but these cost a considerable amount of money. The other way to get such a vehicle is to purchase custom chopper kits and then construct your own one from them. In this article we look at some of the things to think about when you are going to be buying custom chopper kits.

choppers for sale

Things You Need To Understand About Custom Chopper Kits

CHOPPER

1. Not only can you purchase these kits from more well known manufacturers there are much smaller custom chopper builders who offer these kits as well. The smaller ones not only do offer their own kits but often you find the parts incorporated into the much larger custom chopper kit manufacturers have been supplied by them as well.

2. You should only purchase such kits if you are serious about building the bike of your dreams and then willing to spend hours caring for it after the work has been completed. However, you should be building such bikes if you don't have a good understanding of how the mechanics of these machines work.

Things To Consider When Shopping For Custom Chopper Kits

There are plenty of places online where one can purchase such kits from and one of the best of course is the online auction site e-Bay. However, if you are going to use this method then there are certain things you need to be looking for when you do. Below we offer some tips which you may find useful when it comes to buying such kits.

1. If you can purchase those kits which not only come with an instruction manual but also a DVD as well. You will find these much more useful as being able to see what is being done will make actually constructing the custom chopper yourself much easier. So if there is no information to show that the kit comes with an instruction DVD ask the seller if one can be provided.

2. If they don't provide a detailed list of what the kit contains in their advertisement then contact them and ask them if they can. Normally they will currently have this information already stored on their PC so should easily be able to email the list through to you as an attachment. If they are unwilling to provide such basic information then look at another seller for your kit.

3. Of course when buying anything from e-Bay whether it is custom chopper kits or other goods make sure that you do some research into the seller as well. Look closely at all feedback that they have not just their ratings. Also don't just look at the good feedback but take a look at that which isn't so good. This way you will get a better feel for whether you will be able to trust the seller you are going to be purchasing from.

Mini Choppers

Mini choppers, factory built or custom mini choppers, are the hottest, most popular and fastest growing segment of the mini bikes hobby today. And they are becoming more and more popular.

I will give you a few tips and recommendations on mini choppers to help you choose the right mini chopper for more speed and extreme fun...

CHOPPER

Choosing and Buying Mini Choppers

So you want to purchase quality mini choppers for yourself or as a gift for someone else and you are not sure which one you should buy?

Well, choosing a great mini chopper to ride is part of the fun!

First of all you will have to decide if you prefer a factory built mini chopper or you want a custom mini chopper. A custom mini chopper is unique, as motorcycle owners usually love to customize their mini choppers to suit their own individual attitude, style and taste. My opinion is that the best option to begin with custom mini choppers is with kit bikes, "bike in a box". They are easy to build compared to "start from scratch" mini choppers and at least you start with a rolling chassis and go from there. They are the best way to start if you have never built a mini chopper before, then later you can build a scratch chopper, once you have some experience with custom mini choppers.

If you have decided to buy your mini chopper pre-built, then you should decide either you prefer an American-made mini chopper or an imported motorcycle. Some people will recommend sticking with an American-made mini chopper, rather than a cheaper, imported version, but of course it all depends on the value you hope to get for your money.

Most of the mini choppers are imported from the Far East; especially they came from China and other places. There are also high quality mini choppers imported from Italy.

Custom Chopper Oil Leaks

Motorcycle owners who ride the older style Evo models may gone through the experience of oil blowing out through the air cleaner when they start the bike up after letting it sit for a long period of time. And once the bike is ridden and brought up to running temperature, or if it's ridden on a daily basis, the problem seems to go away.

chopper motorcycle

This is not an unusual occurrence with the older style Evo engines. But even though it may be a common thing, it's not normal for this to happen despite what you may have been told. The first thing to understand is that the oiling system on these motors is what is known as a dry sump. What that means is the oil supply is located in a different place away from the motor as in an oil tank. Because of this setup, only a small amount of oil should ever collect in the crankcase (sump) of the motor at anytime. When oil starts squirting out through the air cleaner, the motor is experiencing what is known as "wet sumping" meaning too much oil is gathering down in the crankcase when the bike sits for long periods of time.

CHOPPER

The reason this happens is because the check valve (a small ball) in the oil pump isn't seating properly. When the engine isn't running, oil will seep past the unseated check valve and drain into the crankcase (the sump). When you start the bike up and pressure starts building along with slinging the excess oil around, it's gotta travel somewhere. So out the breather it goes, into the air cleaner and onto the floor before it gets a chance to get pumped back into the oil tank.

There are a couple of reasons that the check valve may not be seating correctly in the oil pump. Some dirt, metal filings or other debris might be on the seat of the valve or on the ball. In some circumstances, metal may have passed through the oil pump and maybe caused some nicks on the ball giving the oil an opportunity to leak through.

To fix this situation, the oil pump needs to be removed, the ball valve and spring taken out of the oil pump housing and all the components given a good cleaning. After cleaning the components, carefully inspect the check valve parts for any damage. In fact, you may want to use a magnifying glass so you can get a real close look at it. Once you've got everything all cleaned up and you see no damage, put it all back together, reinstall the pump and see if that takes care of the problem. If this problem continues after you've cleaned and inspected everything, chances are you'll need to replace the oil pump.

One more thing: When you do leave your motorcycle sitting for long periods of time, check the oil level before you start it up. If the level is low, don't add any oil until you run the motor for a little bit. The reason is because the motor may have "wet-sumped" while its been sitting and a good amount of oil may have leaked into the crankcase. And even though your dipstick may indicate that the engine oil supply is about a quart low, that missing oil may be sitting in the crankcase. If you add a quart of new oil before you start the bike up, you'll overflow the oil tank. So it's a good idea to let the motorcycle run for a few minutes to circulate the existing oil and then check the level.

Chopper Kits - Not Just For the Professionals Anymore

More and more people are building their own motorcycles using chopper kits. These are the life size versions of model motorcycle kits. What use to be left up to the professionals is now quickly becoming a hobby for amateurs. You can purchase one of these kits to upgrade your current bike, or to completely build your own.

chopper bicycle for sale

Because there are so many options when it comes to getting a "bike in a box", the first thing to determine is your budget. Though you could end up saving lots of money by doing it yourself, depending on the look and feel you want, once you finish purchasing all your extras you might end up spending about what you would have if you had purchased the bike from a dealer.

CHOPPER

Should You Upgrade?

Secondly, you need to decide whether you are upgrading your current bike or want a completely new one. If you are upgrading, every manufacturer has parts and accessories you can purchase separately, or kits for certain areas like the chassis or frame.

Building from Scratch

If you are building from scratch, then you need to determine which make and model you like the best. Then determine what color and finish you want. Though a chopper kit comes with all the parts, it does not come painted or finished. This is one way to truly put your mark on the bike and make it your own.

For the inexperienced builder, there are several options when it comes to learning how to put your kit together. For those that like to figure things out by getting their hands dirty, you will have the time of your life figuring out how to put your chopper kit together. Be prepared for trial and error, and possibly some leftover parts, but that is the fun of it, right? For those that like reading, there are detailed instructions included with each kit, as well as several books you can purchase or download with instructions on exactly how to build your own bike.

For those that learn by watching someone else there are a couple of options as well. There are instructional videos and DVDs. You can watch them as many times as you like until you are comfortable with the process. If you are able to hook up a TV and VCR in your garage, you can rewind and playback as you assemble your kit. There are also classes or "boot camps" you can attend where you will have an instructor there to help you along and answer any questions.

Are you looking for a greasy, mechanical, do-it-yourself, garage project will occupy you for a couple of weeks? Putting together a chopper kit seems to be the hobby that is becoming increasingly popular. These days, you will be hard pressed not to see at least one motorcycle zoom by you on the road. Just know that could have been you flying by on your custom, personalized bike built with your own two hands.

Kids American Chopper Party Ideas For Motorcycle Lovers Who Hog The Road

The popular and tough guy TV show, American Chopper is one of the reality TV shows to gain a huge fan following amongst motorbike enthusiasts. If you or one of your loved ones is into motorbikes, why not plan an American Chopper party for your next special occasion?

Decorate the garage with motorcycling memorabilia and posters. On your invitations, ask everyone who has a motorbike to turn up in their riding gear. These two elements will make for great photo opportunities.

There are bikers of every age group - males and females from teenagers to seventy year olds, people for whom being on a bike on the open road is the closest thing to being in heaven. As such you'll have to provide food and beverages that will be popular with everyone. Make sure there is plenty of beer (unless you're underage), as well as things such buffalo wings, steak or pizza. Have the party in the garage, so everyone who has brought their bike can park it in the drive.

As an alternative, don't supply alcohol. Instead, the bikers can gather, enjoy the food and atmosphere of the party and take off together for a ride afterwards. This a great way to top off an enjoyable afternoon.

Planning an American Chopper party can almost be as enjoyable as the party itself. And as well as being a novel way to celebrate a special occasion, your American Chopper party can be a way for your motorcycle-mad guests (who mightn't already know each other) to make new friends who share their passion.

American Chopper Games for Your Kids Motorcycle Theme Party

Every great party needs some fun party games to keep the guests interested. This goes for kids party's too. As the party host you'll want to keep them entertained so they don't get bored and start running around to create some entertainment of their own. You'll thank yourself later for using the following game ideas at your American Chopper Party. These two games are really two parts of one activity that will keep the kids entertained for a few hours. First have the kids compete in the great Cardboard American Chopper contest, then each group gets to partake in The American Chopper Relay.

chopper

For the first game have the kids break up into teams so they can develop and create their own American Choppers out of cardboard. You'll need to provide the kids with some large cardboard sheets, scissors, lots of markers, glue, construction paper, and aluminum (for the metallic look). This will be a supervised project so you'll need to help the kids with cutting and designs. The choppers are easier to make when you have the kids create two dimensional versions on cardboard cut out to look like a motorcycle, but if you have the inclination go ahead and attempt a three dimensional cardboard bike. After the bikes are created and lined up have the parents get together and give awards and prizes to the bikes based on creativity, color, effort, best team, and any other category you like.

CHOPPER

When the choppers are dry and everyone's had some cake assemble for The American Chopper Relay. Everyone stays in their design team but space them out as you would for a relay race. The point being to 'race' their team's chopper from one end of the 'racetrack' to the other, and the kids will hand off their choppers to each of the team members along the track. Give an award to the first place team.

Instead what they do is provide you with all the pieces that are needed to put it together. Certainly when you are doing any DIY project at home and find you have run out of something and need to go to the hardware store to get it, you generally decide to give up. However, with a custom bike kit this is something that need concern you.

This way what started as a standard custom bike will turn into something truly special.

Before when people wished to build their own custom bikes they needed to use various tools in order to create some custom parts. However, because custom bike kits have become increasingly popular so company's like Harley produce aftermarket parts such as wheels, seats, exhaust systems that can be used with them. Also no longer do you have to spend lots of money buying equipment such as blow torches or saws in order to create a one off piece of machinery.

The other benefit to be gained from purchasing custom bike kits rather than trying to build one from scratch is the cost. No longer do you have to spend time driving around looking for that part you need or buying parts which are wrong. With these kits everything is there already for you and you can then just decide if you want to replace some of these parts with something else when you feel like it.

You Can Build a Bobber Chopper

If you're reading this article, then you will most likely know what a Bobber chopper is. But for those of you who have no idea what a Bobber chopper is (or even what a Bobber is), then read along, and I'll do my best to explain.

chopper rolling chassis

In the shortest and simplest of terms, a Bobber is a form of custom motorcycle that has had its fenders removed. At least that's what was originally meant by the term. As soldiers returned to America from the battlefields of Europe, many brought home with them the European way of racing motorcycles and cars. Cars in Europe were, in general, smaller, lighter and therefore sportier-feeling as compared to their American counterparts. The same idea applied to motorcycles from the European continent.

CHOPPER

As the former soldiers began to ride and race American motorcycle brands like Harley-Davidson and Indian, they longed for the lightweight, good handling qualities of the European bikes. In order to try to cut the weight down on the heavy American bikes, they removed everything that wasn't essential for operation. This included removing the fenders, which gave the bikes a "bobbed" appearance, hence the name "Bobber." Probably the biggest difference between choppers and Bobbers is that Bobbers always lack fenders. Fenders are optional on choppers.

Bobbers were around even before there were choppers. Choppers, which really are extremely modified or "chopped" Bobber motorcycles, really became popular in the late 1960's and early 1970's as Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda and Jack Nicholson helped make them popular in movies of that era. The choppers were literally "chopped" to make them as sleek and lightweight as possible. That's why choppers look like an engine and a place to sit, because everything else has been removed, chopped off or downsized to absolute minimum size.

These days, it can be quite easy to build your own Bobber chopper. Many companies supply kits to do just this. Custom frames and other components can be mated up with common engines, hot and wild paint jobs and other stock running gear for a truly unique Bobber chopper.

1. Chain breaker- remove the chain form your bike, a great tool. The main chain link should be very strong and can be very difficult to remove without the chain breaker tool. It is not too expensive and can save a lot of time when you are working on your chopper.

2. Chain press tool- makes reinstalling the chain much easier. This method is easier than the old hammer method which can be quite painful.

3. Compression tester- Check the compression of your engine. It is useful as it can tell you when you should rebuild your engine. Checks for bad rings, scarred cylinders and much more.

4, Hydraulic brake bleeder- bleed the air from your brake system. When repairing your brakes, air can enter into your brake lines. It removes the trapped air and does not require the assistance of another individual, to bleed your brakes.

5. Handle bar and sub frame straightener- straightens your frame or handle bars, easily. In some cases, straighten your chopper frame or handle bars, will require more than a cheater bar. The straightener can to do it efficiently and safely to insure best results.

6. Clutch holding tool and spring compression tool- they will aid in removal and installation of your clutch.

7. Fork tools- fork oil gage and seal drivers. The oil gage will check your level of fork oil and seal drivers will aid in installing your new fork seals, much easier.

8. Flywheel puller- remove your flywheel much easier and not cause any damage to your parts.

9. Motorcycle lift- will aid in lifting your motorcycle and be in a raised position to be able to safely perform repairs.

Engineering the Mekgineer's Chopper in WOTLK

I've always lusted after the Alliance Mekgineer's Chopper in Wrath of the Lich King. They look so cool, idling outside the Auction House in Stormwind or roaring around the streets of Dalaran. Now, although you can buy a chopper on the Auction House (you don't need to be an Engineer to ride one) I decided to craft one.

choppers for sale

So, how do you craft a Mekgineer's Chopper? It helps if you are an Engineer which, at the time I tried this, I wasn't. So I had to drop Inscription (I had reached the level of Grand Master) and train as an Engineer, again all the way to Grand Master.

CHOPPER

To train Engineering to that of Grand Master at level 80 doesn't take that long, providing you have Mining as your second primary profession. Engineering consumes vast amounts of metals and without Mining to feed your craft you will spend a fortune at the Auction house buying metals and elemental material. It took me about a week of mining and crafting to max out Engineering and I managed to craft some cool gear in the process.

Once you have reached a skill of 450 in Engineering you need the chopper schematic. This is purchased for 350g from the Alliance Vanguard Quartermaster located at either the Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord. But here's the catch: you need to be exalted with the Alliance Vanguard before you can buy the schematic. If this catches you out (I was only Revered) try performing the daily quests at the Argent Tournament which should allow you to reach Exalted in double-quick time.

Having obtained the schematic you need to gather or buy the following materials:

Titansteel Bar (12) Handful of Cobalt Bolts (40) Arctic Fur (2) Salvaged Iron Golem Parts (1) Goblin-machined Piston (8) Elementium-plated Exhaust Pipe (1)

Titansteel Bar

Titansteel can now be made relatively easily if you have maxed out Mining as one of your professions. As of patch 3.3 there is no longer any cool down for the smelting of this metal. To make one bar of Titansteel requires you smelt:

Titanium Bars (3) Eternal Fire (1) Eternal Earth (1) Eternal Shadow(1)

You'll gather Crystallized Elements needed for the Eternals in this recipe as a by product of gathering the various mineral ores. Remember 10 Crystallized Elements make 1 Eternal.

Here's a tip: if you have an alt or a friendly Guild member with sufficient Alchemy skill you'll be able to mine Saronite ore instead of Titanium ore which is much easier. You send your alt 24 bars of Saronite which can be 'transmuted' to 3 Titanium bars and sent back to your main character. A neat trick which can save you both time and money.

Arctic Fur

The easiest thing to do is to buy is to buy this item at the Auction House. This will probably set you back 200g. Perhaps we should have taken up Skinning for a profession!

Here's at tip: wait until the Darkmoon Faire comes around and buy the fur from the exotic goods vendor Lhara for Just 12g per piece!

Rocki Ramrocket

The remaining items for the chopper can all be obtained from the NPC called Rocki Ramrocket located at K3, Storm Peaks:

Salvaged Iron Golem Parts (1), 3000g Goblin-machined Piston (8), 8000g Elementium-plated Exhaust Pipe (1), 1500g

Total 12,500g

Rocki only sells the exhaust pipe as a limited supply item so there is a chance that it may be missing temporarily.

Crafting the Chopper

Once you gathered and bought all the items for the schematic, its time to craft the chopper which is done simply at any forge. You'll then earn the Achievement Get to da Chopper!

Congratulations, you have reached the pinnacle of your skill as an Engineer and crafted one of the coolest mounts in the World of Warcraft!

Then at the weekends, when we are on our "hot" rides, we will see four or five show finish level bikes. There are more choppers around now than there have been in the last twenty five years.

choppers for sale

Most of these choppers have been built from motorcycle chopper kits, the "bike in a box" approach. But hey, don't knock it! Building your own chopper has never been easier. There are rolling chassis kits, complete bike kits, and frame manufacturers give you a multitude of choice when it comes to take the plunge and buy a motorcycle chopper kit.

CHOPPER

Thirty years ago, the old school chopper builders had to start with a stock bike off-the-shelf and literally chop it to pieces. With the modern chopper kits, there is a viable alternative to taking the cutting torch to your favorite soft tail!

Nowadays, you have a cheap and easier way to build the bike from the ground up. When you take the cost of buying a new bike and the expense of chopping it, it works out much cheaper to start from step one, and your chopper kit. Instead of tossing away the parts that you'll never use again, you can start building your own bike with the parts that you really need. All the parts are included in the motorcycle chopper kit, along with comprehensive instructions.

One of the first questions that people ask when considering buying a kit is how will my bike stand outs from all the other chopper kits? Well think of it this way, you are going to buy a chopper kit. A pile of unassembled raw metal. No paint, no real finish, just a blank canvas. Is your taste in paint jobs likely to be the same as the next guy, who buys the very same kit? I don't think so. What about your taste in bolt-ons, seats, exhausts? Just because you buy the kit doesn't mean every little thing has to be just so. That is the whole point isn't it? It's very easy in this way to build your own custom chopper from a chopper kit.

Another big question is, "How long"? The answer to that is as long as it takes. Even on the kit bikes, which are supposed to be designed to fit together like a glove, you are going to run into some snags. It can't be avoided!

If you want a more concrete guide, try this. An experienced kit builder (though not a professional) I spoke to reckons it took 10 full days to build his last chopper from a kit. For someone less experienced it could take a couple of days longer. Twelve 9 hour days works out at 108 hours. Over evenings and weekends, this could drag out to three or four weeks of living in a pile of motorcycle parts! So be prepared to literally live the experience if you are going to take the plunge.

What about the practical side? Well, there is no substitute for experience. The place to start building up your experience with the mechanical side of building to kit bike is with your current ride. Make sure all you can do the basic maintenance on your motorcycle, and then start to do some simple disassembling. Take off the tires, take off the exhaust, real basic stuff; all of this will help to build a new confidence in the shop side of things. You can also get some great videos on maintenance, and even on building the custom bike of your dreams. Read the books, watch the videos, and buy the t-shirt! Believe me, all the preparation you make will stand you in good stead.

If you really are hopeless at the mechanical side of things, why not pay someone else to help you build it, or even get them to build the whole thing for you? The cost of the kit plus labor could well work out cheaper than buying a chopper "off the shelf".

And of course, when that beautiful chopper is standing on your driveway, and your friends are asking you "Was it worth it?" you can turn to the chopper, drag your hand across the flames on the tank and the polished chrome, turn back to them and say, "What do you think?"

Reasons To Love A Mini Harley Chopper Scooter

Head Turners on the Road

chopper rolling chassis

A lot of buzz is going on about the mini Harley chopper scooter, and teens are going crazy over these trendy bikes. If your child is moping for one, then you have to go over the pros and cons before getting one. You have to think real fast, because they are short of supply.

CHOPPER

These little bikes give off a big roar, and whiz past just like the big machines. Surely, you haven't turned a blind eye and deaf ear to a mini harley chopper scooter? It is a good thing these are not recommended for use along the highway and public roads. Definitely not. Look up these bikes at the key suppliers nearest you or hop online to check out details.

Should You?

Buying a mini harley chopper scooter for your son or daughter will require some caution on your part. If your child is eighteen years old you can get her or him this hot bike; and if you trust your child, who is below 18 years, then why not. Most parents would not allow this for valid reasons. They have a point here.

Unless they have the time to supervise their kids with the proper use of the mini Harley chopper scooter, then parents can get this bike without worrying unnecessarily. These mini clones can go at speeds up to 25 mph. Just about right for teens. It has stainless steel dual tips muffler, headlight brake lights, and rear signal indicators.

Another enticement to get this mini harley chopper scooter is the price. It is an affordable piece of steel for your child's fun, and pride. The machine is a fine specimen of detailed artistry. So you get real value for your money. You can test drive the mini Harley Chopper to check out how it runs.

Rocking Harley

The mini harley chopper scooter proudly displays a Harley Davidson logo. There is also a decal of a burst of flame on the seat and on the handlebars. A loud electric horn will warn anybody of the approach of the mini Harley.

Well as a parent, get your child the complete set of safety gear. Make sure he or she wears the helmet - whether it is hot or not. Some accidents have happened with devastating results just because the helmet was ignored.

Safety systems have been incorporated into this little meanie. There's the push button electrical ignition that can start and switch off the motor safely. Front and rear disk breaks can balance the mini Harley Chopper when put rapidly to a halt.

Which Mini Meanie?

The 36cc, and 43cc, mini harley chopper scooter models are not gas guzzlers. The first runs with a maximum speed of 16mph, while the latter can go up to 25mph. You can have an idea of the speed limits of the little Harley. So get one that you believe is best for your child. Now watch her or him ride with pride. Perhaps you would be riding it too. That would be another story.

Model Helicopter Flying Tips

A model helicopter is a lot of fun to fly, but it takes a high level of skill to successfully operate. You cannot expect to just pick up the aircraft and start flying. Plenty of preparation and research must be done beforehand to avoid immediate crashes. As a beginner, you should not purchase expensive aircraft in case it crashes while practicing. However, try not to buy the cheapest aircrafts either. The cheapest planes are made from low quality materials and break very easily. The best solution is to buy a mid-range helicopter that is affordable and made with quality materials.

If you are unsure what type of helicopter to buy, then ask for tips from the store staff or other hobbyists. A basic helicopter should have four channels for turning, climbing, and descending. Complex aircraft may have more than four channels, but you should start with a basic design.

PRICE CHOPPER FLYER

Invest time in mastering each step in flying. An amateur pilot will not immediately be able to take the aircraft to proper flight, so try small turns and basic climbs and descents. Carefully read the instructions from the manufacturer on how to assemble the aircraft and prepare it for flight. Most manuals will tell you to start by turning on the radio and then plugging in the battery on the aircraft. Wait ten seconds or more before starting the aircraft.

During first flight, gently increase the throttle to raise the chopper about three feet of the ground. Do not hover lower than this because it causes the "ground effect", which is instability caused by turbulence near the ground. Continue practicing the throttle movements until you feel comfortable with the controls.

Once the throttle has been mastered, it is time to move on to basic yaw and cyclic channels. These controls turn the helicopter and cause it to move forward or backwards. Fly to fly the helicopter with its tail facing your direction. This way the remote will logically turn the aircraft the direction you want it to go. Experienced flyers can try other positions, but this method is the easiest way to start flying.

Every aircraft is different so the controls that work for one chopper may be completely different for another one. This is why it is important to carefully read the manual and practice before trying any complex moves. The faster your helicopter is, the more difficult it will be to fly.

How To Paint Flames On Your Motorcycle Or Chopper

Beginners guide to painting hotrod flames.

chopper

Material and Supplies

CHOPPER

3/4 inch masking tape

Fine line 1/8 tape

600 and 1500 grit waterproof sandpaper

x-acto knife

orange and red paint for the flames

pre-cleaner

paint spray gun

airbrush

clearcoat

multi speed polisher

buffing compound

Flames or any other graphics should be painted on top of a clear coated base. Along with giving the overall paint job more depth, applying the artwork on top of the clear coat makes it possible to remove artwork with a rag and some thinner if you make a mistake.

Step 1:

With your 600 grit paper, thoroughly wet sand the clear coat on the surface you're about to paint.

Step 2:

With your fine line tape, lay out the shape of your flames, working from left to right. Push and pull the fine line tape into position with both hands working in unison. Pay close attention to the balance of the area to be painted, and the background (that will be masked). If it seems tricky, don't sweat it...you'll get the hang of it with a little practice.

Step 3:

After you've got the flames laid out with the fine line tape, burnish it down nice and tight to prevent the paint from creeping under the edge during painting. This is especially critical on the overlapping ends.

Once the fineline tape burnished down nice and snug, mask off the negative (background) areas with your 3/4 masking tape, carefully butting it against the edge of the fineline tape. Be careful not to leave any gaps between the masking tape and the fineline.

Step 4:

With the flames carefully laid out and masked, it's now time to spray some color.

Mix up some orange or yellow paint, and load it in your touch up gun. Apply a couple of thin even coats, just enough to cover. After the base color for your flames have dried, load up your airbrush and add some red highlights to the tips and outer edges of the flames.

Step 5:

After the paint has dried, gently remove the masking tape by pulling it at a low angle away from the fine line tape. Now remove the fineline tape using the same procedure. Take care not to peel up the edges of the fresh paint.

Step 6:

Clean off any residue left by the masking tape with a clean soft rag and some pre-cleaner product.

Step 7:

Time now to bury your flames under some clear. Apply as many coats of clear needed so that the edges of the flames can't be felt when you rub your hand over it (when it's dry of course). If you can feel the edges of the flames through the clear, you'll need to spray another round or two.

Step 8:

Once the clear has dried, wet sand it flat with 600 grit. Soon after you start sanding you'll notice ripples starting to appear in the clear. You'll know you're finished when the ripples disappear and the surface is nice and flat. After your finished with the 600 grit, wet sand it once more with 1500 or 2000 grit. At this point the clear will look hazy from wet sanding. Don't worry, that will all change after the next and final step.

Step 8:

The final step is to buff the clear coat to a mirror shine, using a multi speed polisher. Attach a foam buffing pad to the polisher, then load it up with some polishing compound. There are many different brands of polishing compounds on the market, your local auto body supply store will be able to recommend a good one. Keep the buffer moving back and forth letting the weight of the buffer do the work. Do not stay in one spot to long or you'll burn through the clear. Keep buffing until you've got a mirror-like finish.

Giant Stiletto is a Cool Lowrider Bike

With their original design and streetwise style, chopper bikes have become one of the most exciting trends in bicycles today. Choppers are a serious fashion statement, generally associated with urban culture, although their retro style appeals to both the young and old. Choppers give riders the opportunity to express their individuality while also providing a comfortable, relaxing ride. They have become so popular lately that they have been adopted as a way of life for some who join clubs to customize, create, and ride their elaborate creations.

Chopper bikes were first seen in California in the beginning of the 60s. Teenagers began imitating popular customized motorbikes that had been "chopped", or put together with parts from several different bikes, for a unique look. Schwinn were the first large bicycle manufacturers to notice this new style and started producing it for mass consumption. In 1963 they introduced their extremely popular Stingray model, which spawned many copies and secured the chopper a place in design and cultural history.

CHOPPER

Today chopper bikes are here again, brought about by the popularity of retro styles and the desire to return back to simpler bicycle styles after the long era of complexly designed mountain bikes. Raleigh, who were one of the first companies to start producing choppers, have introduced a new design that is taking a new generation by storm and introducing them to the phenomenon of chopper bikes. Fans are also building their own choppers, often from the scratch, and customizing them in every way imaginable in order to make the ultimate expression of individuality. These customized bikes sport upholstery, specialized paint jobs, and ornamental components, all of which serve to turn the chopper into a work of art.

For anyone who is new to choppers, there are lots of different styles to suit every budget. So you can go right ahead and get yourself that Chopper that you have been eyeing for sometime. No matter how small your budget is, you can and will find some thing to make a go for. If you are looking to buy a chopper you can choose from the many ready made models (which you can then customize yourself with special components and accessories) or you can have one built from scratch, to your exact specifications. While custom design are more expensive, they allow you to design your bike just the way you like it and ensure that your bicycle fits you exactly, providing you with many years of fun riding, seeing, and of course being seen.

Could Miami Become The Detroit For Choppers

It will if Victor Cabanas, founder of Chopper Nation in Miami, Florida, has anything to do with it. He's the "Henry Ford of choppers." Because most choppers are hand made one-off customs requiring hundreds of hours to build, average prices hover around ,000 and go up from there. He, like Henry Ford, realized you could open up the market to more buyers if you could reduce the price of the product. Henry Ford did it through the invention of the assembly line.

chopper

Victor Cabanas is doing it by replacing time intensive sheetmetal work-- such as pounding out gas tanks and fenders by hand-- with "stamping" those items from steel presses-- just like they do in automobile plants around the world. Henry Ford is quoted as saying, "You can have any car in any color as long as it is black." Chopper Nation will get you onto a chopper for as little as ,000 as long as it is black-- the company's bare bones introductory model.

CHOPPER

Despite using interchangeable parts, even the "Model T" version is unique enough to stand apart from the crowd with its unusual "twisted" downtube, a signature of every Chopper Nation bike. Choices in custom paint jobs and accessories will cost more. For those with more discretionary income, the sky is the limit. At the top of the line is a chopper that uses nitrous oxide (NOS) for an added rocket blast when needed.

Ultimate Chopper - What to Look For When Choosing Your Chopper

Are you getting tired of your inefficient chopper? Are you getting bored with chopping vegetables, fruit and meat each day? Are you tired of how slow it takes your chopper to manually chop your things and afraid of slicing your fingers or impairing them in the process? It's best if you dispose of your chopper now and replace with an ultimate chopper that would cut down your time in the kitchen.

chopper frames

When you are thinking of buying an ultimate chopper that would slice or chop your meat, fruits and vegetables at a faster time and safer process, you should consider these tips:

CHOPPER

First, the cost of your chopper should be reasonable. This is what most consumers often look for in an ultimate chopper, right? You should also consider what purpose you want your machine to achieve, whether it will be used all the time or just a few times per week. Also think of whether your ultimate chopper is handheld or machine.

Second, when buying your chopper, look for an reputable online shop or website that sells what you think can cater to your needs. There are a lot of websites out there on the internet that sell vegetable, meat and fruit choppers, slicers and dicers, but few of them can give what best deal.

Third, there are at least three main types of chopper that you can select from. Manual choppers are the cheapest. However, they should only be used to chop small amount of meat, fruit and vegetable. There are also electronic choppers. These are efficient to use, especially when you are dealing with a large number of vegetable, fruits and meat. They usually come in relatively higher price. And the last, industrial choppers are perhaps the best chopper in terms of efficiency of use. These high-priced choppers are commonly used in restos.

Now that you know what you should look for when buying your ultimate chopper, you should choose the one that would work efficiently in your kitchen. With your best chopper, cooking your favorite food will never be the same again.
